It’s a new year, but some of the sectors that were already growing in 2025 continue to do so, providing growth for existing businesses in those sectors and franchises also looking to get in on the action.
Health and Wellness
Since the pandemic, there has been an increased demand for personalized fitness, recovery, and mental health services, powered by apps and AI. The pandemic changed some things permanently, and we definitely would argue it’s a good thing that people are continuing to look after their physical and mental health.
Growing franchises in this space: Crunch Fitness and Pure Green. Crunch was founded in a basement in NYC in 1989 and now claims 450 locations worldwide. They have a “high value, low price” membership starting at $10/month. Pure Green uses small footprint stores and a lean model (they don’t do their juicing onsite, instead benefitting from wholesale supply from the franchisor) to delivery healthy juices, smoothies, bowls, and wellness shots. Also started in NYC, Pure Green’s top stores average $1.4M/year in revenue.
Pet Services
People love their pets, and the statistic that can put an exclamation mark on that claim comes from the National Retail Federation’s annual survey. The 2025 edition projected $860M on Halloween costumes for pets. That’s up from $700M the year before. Clearly, it’s a great time to be in this space.
Growing franchises in this space: Zoomin Groomin and Dogtopia. Zoomin doesn’t do Halloween costumes, alas, but they do do mobile grooming, which the busy “pet parent” values. They have eco-friendly mobile vans and have over 200 locations across the US. Dogtopia has ranked #1 in the pet category on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 for multiple years in a row. It Has 285 locations open, with another 200 sold: they project 400+ by the end of this year. They do dog daycare, boarding, and spa services. Owners love tuning in on the webcams to see their pups at play.
Senior Care
Senior care has been a popular sector for some years now, but the moment of in-home care and companionship has really arrived.
Growing franchises in this space: Boost Home Healthcare and Right at Home. While Boost is a nurse-inspired clinical home health franchise, its model doesn’t require any previous healthcare experience and has a lower franchise fee ($60,000), making it an attractive opportunity. Right at Home has been around since 1995 and is one of the largest and most established in-home senior care franchises with 700 locations worldwide. Their mature locations regularly see $1.3M/year in revenue. Both of these franchises offer discounts to veterans on the franchise fee (20% and 25%, respectively).
The franchises we’ve mentioned above are quality brands that are likely to be around for a while. But we also frequently sell homegrown businesses in these sectors, and you would do well to take advantage of buying an established business instead of having to start one from zero on your own. If you’re interested in buying or selling in these sectors, let’s talk.
